Salon raises money for expecting Lee Co. couple

A salon is holding a fundraiser for an expecting Lee County couple.

Shaina and Tyler Edenfield are expecting their first child. Shaina is 26 weeks along and doctors recently told them their baby, PJ, has cysts in her chest area and fluid around her heart, which could cause heart failure.

In March, Edenfield will be induced early at an Atlanta hospital, and baby PJ will be immediately taken into surgery. They're expecting a one to three month recovery process.

"My husband and I both appreciate every little bit of help, every prayer," said Shaina. "Even if someone can't donate money or anything just prayers really help us. It gives us some hope."

Shaina has been babysitting to raise money.

"If everyone donated just $1, that would make a significant difference in ours and our daughter's life. It'll go to any medical expenses not covered by our insurance. My husband will be out of work for the time that we're out of town for her birth and her surgery and everything else," explained Shaina.

Sunday, December 7th, starting at 1 p.m., Blonde, Inc. Salon in Leesburg will offer haircuts for donations that will go to the Edenfields. They will also be selling baked goods.

"It's actually been a bit overwhelming. I didn't expect all the support that we have gotten. we have a lot of people wanting to do fundraisers and raise money for us and I really didn't expect that many people to care," said Shaina.

You can call the salon at 229-496-9659 to make an appointment. To contact Shaina and Tyler Edenfield, call 229-395-5376.
