VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - If you're looking for a holiday gift for someone who likes art, you might consider stopping by VSU.
Friday, the 13th annual Christmas Ceramics Sale kicked off in VSU's Fine Arts building, located at the corner of Oak Street and Brookwood Drive. Art students will have their work on sale again Saturday starting at 9 a.m.
The sale includes ceramics as well as jewelry. "All of the work that is sold here, a portion of that goes to our visiting artist fund," explained Michael Schmidt, head of VSU's Art Department. "To help fund external artists come in and do workshops for our students and lectures. Sometimes one or two day workshops."
The students also get to keep a portion of the proceeds from the sale.
The sale ends at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
