VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A suspected meth dealer was off the streets in Valdosta Thursday night.
36 year-old Demico Rowe was arrested at 1613 Marion Street around noon Wednesday. Police received a tip about suspicious activity at the home around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, so they conducted surveillance.
Officers found Rowe inside with meth on him. Four other people were also in the house at the time, but they were not arrested and were not facing any charges as of Thursday night.
"[Investigators] were able to find just under five grams, but it was individually packaged for distribution so they arrested him and charged him with possession with intent to distribute," explained Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk.
Investigators also found a gun in Rowe's car, but he was not charged with possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime because he did not have the gun on him when he was arrested.
