VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -
Resurfacing will continue for one more day on two busy streets in Valdosta. Work began Thursday morning to resurface Eager Road and Jerry Jones Drive between Gornto Road and Oak Street.
Work will start again Friday at 9 a.m. and should be completed by 5 p.m. The work is actually being done earlier than planned to combine it with another project and save taxpayers money.
"In a sense, we saved mobilization fees and other fees of traffic control, and we want to inconvenience the public as least as possible," said Valdosta Traffic Manager Larry Ogden.
The city estimates that doing the project now will save taxpayers around $80,000.
