Albany man chased, arrested in Tift Co.

TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - Linzy Clayton Amiker of Albany was arrested in Tift County after crashing his speeding car into a ditch near US Highway 82 Tuesday.

He was clocked at 74 miles per hour in a 55 mile per hour zone and attempted to make a traffic stop.  Amiker, 30, was then arrested after a short foot pursuit, and was taken to the hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. 

Amiker is charged with a multitude of offenses: failure to yield at a yield sign, two counts of hit and run, failure to maintain lane, driving too fast for conditions, open container while operating a vehicle, DUI, speeding, two counts for failure to stop at a stop sign, fleeing or attempting to elude a police officer, driving without a valid license, reckless driving, failure to maintain lane and for the willful obstruction of law enforcement.

Amiker has been released from the Tift County Jail.
