South Georgia state legislators want businesses to know what they plan to focus on in the upcoming legislative session.

The Valdosta-Lowndes Chamber held a luncheon in Valdosta Wednesday for area representatives to speak to Valdosta and Lowndes County businesses about their plans.

State Senator Ellis Black said this was an important opportunity to help voters stay informed. "I think we got a lot of issues gonna be comin' up this session the public will wanna keep abreast of," Senator Black pointed out. "A couple of bills that was passed here recently on taxes that we probably gonna go back and do a little tweakin' on."

Senator Black also said public education funding is another issue that they will be focusing on.

The legislative session begins January 12th.
