Donating a canned food item to Second Harvest in Valdosta could earn you a free Winn Dixie gift card.

The Winn Dixie on North Valdosta Road is having an open house event Wednesday night beginning at 5:30 to celebrate the completion of the store's renovation.

It took around six months and cost about $2 million dollars. "Tonight, if you bring canned goods you get mystery gift cards. We donate all the canned goods to Second Harvest," said store director Dennis Gaskins.

The store will also be donating around $500 worth of gift cards to the Lowndes County Children's Advocacy Center during the open house event.
