ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Santa's helpers delivered Christmas joy to some area seniors Tuesday.

This is the 4th year the Dougherty County Rotary Club worked with the SOWEGA council on aging on the Senior Santa program.

The club donated $15,000 to purchase gifts from seniors' wish lists.

Tuesday, Volunteers delivered gifts to 102 seniors.

Council on Aging Director Kay Hind said the need grows every year, and she's thankful there are people who want to help.

"We identified the people, we found out what they wanted, one of our staff believe it or not shopped and then we all wrapped the presents and then the rotary club members came back and they do the deliveries, " Kay Hind, Executive Director, Sowega.

The Council on aging will also put on a Christmas dinner for their clients and make sure those who are home bound will get a Christmas dinner as well.
