Woman pleads guilty to three charges

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A Dougherty County woman, as her cruelty to children trial was beginning, pleads guilty under a deal with prosecutors, and is sentenced to 18 to 24 months in jail.

31-year-old Tammy Saumenig was charged with cruelty to a child, cruelty to animals and reckless conduct.

Dougherty County Police say July 4th, 2012 they found Saumenig's two children malnourished and living in filth in her Staten Drive home with drug items around. Police said Saumenig's two year old girl had a crack pipe in her mouth.

Saumenig plead guilty to cruelty to animals, reckless conduct, and giving false information.
