AFD, APD investigate mysterious car fire

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany police are looking into what happened after a car was set on fire near Cason St., in the 600 Block of Silica Drive, near a railroad track Sunday evening.

Authorities are investigating what they call a case of arson in the second degree, in which a gray 2008, Pontiac, Grand Prix, GA was burned.

APD Officers responded to assist AFD with a suspected arson incident.

The car was on fire in a wooded area along the rail road tracks. AFD Arson Investigator Sam Harris responded to the scene to assist with the on scene investigation of this incident.

The vehicle was towed from the scene. The case will be forwarded to the detectives' bureau and AFD Arson Investigation Section.
