LEARY, GA (WALB) -

Progress is being made on a Leary couple's home that was falling apart, but workers say they still need more donations to get the job done.

Lillie Mae Harrell and her Vietnam War Veteran husband, Danny Harrell now have new windows and siding up at their home. This weekend, volunteers with The Patriot Guard Riders and the American Legion in Sylvester did the repairs. They now need more donations and supplies to finish the job.

"We still need some money to pay for some more materials that we need,” said David Shreckengost, neighbor and contractor. “We've got to finish the outside of the house. We want to go inside. We've got dry wall repairs that need to be done inside, painting, a lot of painting because there's water damage from where the roof use to leak."

They're also looking for a siding contractor and hope to raise more than $500 to finish the repairs. They'll have another work day on December 6th at 8:00 a.m. You can help make donations by clicking here. Or to volunteer contact David Shreckengost at 678-663-2835.
