Relative: Ga. man shot dead trying to stop fight

WARNER ROBINS, Ga. (AP) - A relative says a 20-year-old man who was slain at a house party in middle Georgia was trying to break up a fight when somebody shot him.

The Macon Telegraph reports (http://bit.ly/1v6Wzsb ) the Houston County Sheriff's Office says Jarvis Rouse of Macon was killed early Saturday at a party in Warner Robins.

The slain man's cousin, Markees Rouse, said they were both at the party when a fight started. He said he didn't see the shooting, but others told him that his cousin was trying to stop the fight when he was shot in the head.

Markees Rouse said there were at least 100 people at the house party.

Sheriff's Capt. Jon Holland said the investigation is in its early stages. No arrests have been announced.
