ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Georgia State Patrol is once again reminding drivers to play it safe and smart when the on the road this holiday weekend. The Thanksgiving Holiday weekend is not even at its halfway point and the state has already had seven deaths.
That is compared to just ten deaths for the entire four day holiday period last year and the Sunday after Thanksgiving is one of the biggest travel days of the year.
"Don't use your cell phones unless you just absolutely have to. Don't text and drive under any circumstances. Don't drink and drive and keep your speed to a lower level," said Sgt. Dana Harnage of the Georgia State Patrol.
The Thanksgiving Holiday weekend will end at midnight on Sunday.
