GSP investigates deadly Thanksgiving morning crash

COLQUITT CO., GA (WALB) -

Georgia State Patrol is investigating a deadly crash that happened early Thanksgiving morning on the Coliquitt, Mitchell County line.

GSP says around 3 a.m. Thursday a single vehicle veered off of Georgia Highway 37 and slammed into a tree, killing one person and injuring another.

The man and woman inside of the vehicle were airlifted to Tallahassee Memorial Hospital, where one of the victims was pronounced dead.

GSP has not released the names of the two involved. No word on the condition of the injured.

There have been at least three total deadly crashes on Georgia roadways this holiday traveling period.

Last year, there were 10 deaths on Georgia highways.
