ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The Albany Recreation and Parks Department needs your help to make Christmas wishes come true for children in need.
They're sponsoring the 11th annual "Make A Wish Come True with a Letter to Santa" program. It benefits children spending Christmas at Open Arms or Liberty House shelters. They've gotten 25 letters and now need people to buy gifts that are on those wish lists.
"Just help fulfill a child's dream wish for Christmas," said Kristin Caso, Albany Recreation and Parks Department. "You don't have to buy everything on the list, just one or two things will make a huge difference in a child's life."
You can pick up a letter at the Department office at Tift Park located at 1301 N. Monroe. Gifts should be returned to the department by December 12th and will be wrapped by the department staff.
