ATLANTA, GA (WALB) - Protesters shutdown the downtown connector near Edgewood Avenue in Atlanta Tuesday night.

According to ABC affiliate WSB in Atlanta, the protesters started walking on to the expressway around 8 p.m., after marching through the State Capitol.

The protest brought traffic to a standstill. Police began arresting the protesters.

The protests are over a Missouri grand jury's decision not to indict  a police officer that fatally shot an unarmed teen in August.

Students also gathered at the CNN center and held a moment of silence for the memory of Michael Brown.

The march numbered approximately 300 students from colleges in the Atlanta area, according to WSB.
