ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Hundreds of people shared an early thanksgiving meal with the Albany Police Department.
People from the community were invited to the Albany Police Department for their annual Thanksgiving Dinner.
The meal was free for everyone. Held at the Albany Civic Center tonight, the department said event like this helps bring people together.
"Its and opportunity to get out and mingle with the community and food always bring people together. If we can get citizens to the table with police in the atmosphere such as this then it makes doing our jobs a little easier," Sgt. Kawaski Barnes, Albany Police Department.
The department had lots of help from the community to donate food items. The Liberty House and the Lily Pad were organizations on hand to offer various resources.
