Some Albany church members just got back from a faith-based trip to Israel. Despite unrest there, they felt safe.
Garrett Grubbs, who's a member of Sherwood Baptist Church, says during the 10 day trip, they never felt like they were in danger. 40 people from four area churches took the trip.
The group was in Jerusalem the day of the attack at a synagogue last week, where five people were killed. "Unless you watched the news, you would have no idea that that was going on. You just feel very safe and just like you were in Albany. We traveled around all parts of Jerusalem that morning and never even heard that there had been an incident until that night," said Grubbs.
This was Grubbs' second trip to Israel. The church plans a trip every 18 months.
