THOMASVILLE, GA (WALB) - Many holiday shoppers are gearing up for Black Friday, but Downtown Thomasville says Saturday is the time to shop.
This Saturday marks the fourth year Thomasville and Thomas county will be participating in Small Business Saturday.
It's a day to support local businesses that create jobs and boosts the local economy.
45 locally-owned businesses will participate this weekend and say they think they have a leg up on big chain stores.
Thomasville Townie Owner Wade Chapman said, “Niche products and services here that you're not going to find at the other stores anyway. And really just a general atmosphere of community. People shop, but they're not just shopping, they're spending time with their friends. So it's a really involved deal, it's not just about the money.”
Shoppers can enter to win a $200 grand prize if they purchase items from four or more small businesses.
