ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Outstanding students at Albany Technical College were recognized Monday as part of the Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership program.
The school honored 13 GOAL nominees for their academic excellence and announced four finalists.
A team from the Albany Chamber of Commerce will decide which finalist will represent ATC in the state GOAL competition.
Cosmetology student Elvin Mallory is one of the finalists.
"I did barbering, now I'm in cosmetology and this is my first semester in cosmetology at Albany Tech and it's been a wonderful experience. I thank my instructor Mrs. Nancy Wright for nominating me for this," Elvin Mallory, GOAL nominee.
The state winner will become the official spokesperson for technical education in Georgia for 2015.
Hotel Restaurant and Tourism Management teacher Lisa Riddle was named instructor of the year.
The Exceptional Adult Georgian in Literacy Education (Eagle) for Dougherty County was Maleeka Stephens
