Newsletter provides tips on keeping off those holiday pounds

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Officials at the University of Georgia have some tips to help keep you from packing on those holiday pounds.

It's part of their zero weight gain challenge.

You can sign up for a free newsletter that's mailed out twice a week with common sense tips to help keep you from gaining weight throughout the holiday season.

Experts say it's a time of year when many of us overindulge.

“When you're together with family, what do you do, you eat, and that's when they bring out the recipes that you only get once a year and we just tend to oh..this is a special occasion so I'm going to overindulge," says Suzanne Williams, Family Consumer Science Agent for the University of Georgia.

She says simple tips like not being really hungry when you go to a holiday party can be helpful.

You can sign up for the free newsletter by calling their office at 229-436-7216.
