Two men burned after gas siphoning identified

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Dougherty County Police have identified two men that were sent to the hospital with burns after a gas siphoning incident.

DCP says 67-year-old John Young and 28-year-old Kumoski Grimes received minor burns Monday afternoon after the gas ignited on Holly Drive.

One of the men was trying to get gas out of the gas tank of his car when the flames were sparked.

The fire burned the car and scorched a mobile home nearby.

They were both taken to the hospital for treatment.

The fire department isn't sure what sparked the flames while the gas was being siphoned. The fire is under investigation.
