Home shot at in Valdosta

Aaron Kirk Aaron Kirk
VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - Monday, Valdosta police were having a tough time figuring out who shot at a Valdosta home Sunday night.

Just before 10 p.m., 37 year-old Someka Haywood and five others were in Haywood's home at 306 North Forrest Street when they heard people outside. They told police they looked out the window and saw four black men standing in the yard.

One of the men had a gun and fired a shot into a window when he saw them. Police said not all of the victims are cooperating with investigators though. "One of 'em who looked out the window, when [investigators] talked to him about it and asked him if he was aware of anybody that was upset with him, he said he was but then he refused to answer any other questions," explained Valdosta Police Department Lieutenant Aaron Kirk.

No one was hurt. One of the people inside the home at the time of the shooting, 22 year-old Corey Gee, was also the victim of a drive by shooting on May 5th of this year, which also occurred on Forrest Street. Kirk said it's too early to tell if the cases may be related.

"That's somethin' investigations will look into to try to determine if those two incidents are related," said Kirk.

Call Valdosta Police if you have any information.
