NORMAN PARK, GA (WALB) - Wallace Hurst has been sentenced to six years probation after pleading guilty to six counts of cruelty to animals.
Hurst was the owner of the land where investigators raided a cockfighting operation in June 2012, near Norman Park, in Colquitt County.
Hurst also paid a fine to keep his property after the Southern Circuit District Attorney's office filed a civil action in August of 2012 seeking Hurst's land, and will get to keep his property.
Hurst is the final defendant to plead guilty in this case.
The District Attorney's office says as many as eight people plead guilty in this case.
