Albany church feeds the community

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany Church opened their doors Tuesday evening to feed anyone in the community.

For the seventh year, New Birth Fellowship Church hosted a pre-thanksgiving celebration dinner.

Members said the free meals are a way to show love to the community.

“During the season there is a lot of taking. Everyone wants something so we wanted to set aside a time to give,” Angelia Daniels, Church Coordinator.

“There are so many people who are not eating who don't have food so whatever the need, thats why we are here to feed the need of our community,” Ella Woodard, New Birth Fellowship Church.

The Church prepared enough to feed more than 500 people.

Turner Job Corps and other organizations took part in the thanksgiving celebration.
