Darton College to offer new 4-year degree

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Darton State College will offer a new 4-year degree.

The Board of Regents approved a bachelor's program in Health Information Management.

The college offers associate degrees in that program.

Darton officials say Health Information Management is a high demand field

"Only one college in the state of Georgia currently has the program. We are one of three new ones that will be adding the program to the curriculum. So if allows our students, especially the ones in South Georgia the opportunity to get their bachelor in health information management,” said Misty Neal, Interim Hit Director.

The program will be Darton's fifth baccalaureate degree. It will also be offered online.

The first students in the program will start next fall.
