ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany economic development leaders are still waiting to meet the new owners of the Cooper Tire property.
We learned about the $6 million purchase last week.
The property was sold from one real estate development firm to another, but city leaders hope to use the sale as another opportunity to encourage manufacturers to locate in Albany.
"We have a workforce that is familiar with manufacturing. We've got great distribution and we've got a community that's hungry for those jobs that wants manufacturers and wants great jobs here in the community," said Justin Strickland Albany-Dougherty EDC President.
The EDC is also working with existing manufacturers on ways to attract other companies to the area.
