LEESBURG, GA (WALB) - 21-year-old Lauren Taylor made her first appearance in Lee County Magistrate court this afternoon, looking dramatically different than her Street Sweep Wanted Poster. She's charged with burglary, party to a crime.
She was captured during a traffic stop Monday night in Albany. Judge James Thurman ordered her held on $100,000 bond because of concerns over where she would stay if released from jail.
Law enforcement officials believe Street Sweep will increase tips from the community.
"Yes, I think it will be easier for the people to call once they see wanted people on TV. And they won't hesitate to call in, especially knowing they don't have to give their name or anything like that," said Sylvester Police Lt. Kenneth Washington.
In 24-hours, five of the 20 Street Sweep Most Wanted fugitives have been captured. And you can still call CRIMESTOPPERS at 436-TIPS.
