Moultrie Police warn holiday revelers that they will step up patrols looking for impaired drivers. They urge you to drink responsibly at holiday parties, have a designated driver, or call a cab or a friend to pick you up.

The Moultrie Police Department will have more officers on patrol during the holidays to try to reduce traffic fatalities and keep the community safe.

"We are going to be targeting impaired drivers, both alcohol, drugs, prescription drugs abuse, intoxicated drivers. And we're going to enforce the law and we're going to stop them to help save their life and others that are on the road that's going to remain sober," said Moultrie Police Sgt. Daniel Lindsay.

Authorities stress it's fine to drink alcohol if you're of age; just make sure you don't get behind the wheel.
