Country star helps fight bullying in South Georgia

HAHIRA, GA (WALB) - A nationally recognized 10 year-old Country singer is using her music to help the fight to end bullying in South Georgia schools.

Emi Sunshine was at Hahira Elementary Monday morning to sing to some 5th graders and share her story about how she was bullied at a young age and how it helped inspire her music career.

She will be performing at a concert in Tifton on November 21st, the proceeds from which will help fund the anti-bullying program called "Bullying Bugs Me" here in South Georgia.

"It's really exciting. I'm excited to do this," Sunshine said. "I was bullied when I was little and it's not fun and I don't want that to happen to other kids."

The concert will be held at the UGA Tifton Conference Center at 7 p.m. on Friday, November 21st. For more information, visit https://www.facebook.com/events/733323293388717/.
