ATLANTA, GA (WALB) - The Atlanta Braves announced they traded outfielder Jason Heyward and relief pitcher Jordan Walden to the St. Louis Cardinals.
As part of the deal, the Braves will get pitchers Shelby Miller and Tyrell Jenkins from St. Louis.
Miller has been in the Cardinals rotation for the last two seasons and Jenkins is one of the top pitching prospects in the St. Louis minor league organization.
Heyward just finished his 5th season with Atlanta, earning two Gold Glove awards during that time.
He is eligible to become a free agent after the 2015 season.
