Two robberies; Same robber?

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Police are trying to figure out if the same gunman robbed two Albany convenience stores Friday morning just a half hour apart. The description of the gunmen at each store is similar.

About 8 o'clock the robber fired two shots in the air as he ran away from Brother's Package Store in the 1100 block of Newton Road with a store employee following him.

The robber was described as black, about 5-feet 3-inches tall, wearing a gray hoodie.

About a half hour later the Mini Mart in the 2400 block of Stuart Avenue was robbed at gunpoint. The suspect was described as 5' 3" black male wearing a gray hoodie, with a blue sweat shirt and gray cargo pants.

He demanded money from the register, and then ran toward neighboring apartments. Schools in the area were placed on lock down while police searched for the suspect.

Police say they continue investigating, and have made no arrests yet.
