Superhornet flies into Southwest Georgia Regional Airport

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

A F-A-18-E Superhornet flew into the Southwest Georgia Regional Airport Thursday night.

Navy Pilot Stan "Spider" Jones flew the fighter 2,000 miles from Ridgecrest, California.

In recognition of Veteran's Day, Jones was invited to speak to Albany State University students about Naval Aviation.

"If I show up on the jet and step out people go he looks just like me and perhaps I can do that too. And just let the people know it's not rocket science and if you work hard enough and do the right things and they want to fly airplanes in the army and navy then they can do it, said Captain Stan Jones, Chief Operational Test Director.

Jones has been a Navy pilot for 20 years.

He'll fly out early in Friday morning headed to Virginia Beach.
