ALBANY, GA (WALB) - An Albany man was sentenced to life in prison after he was convicted of murder Thursday afternoon in Dougherty Superior Court.
Jurors found Calvin Brooks guilty of murder, aggravated assault and aggravated battery in the death of 45-year old Jerome Walden.
Prosecutors say Brooks and two other men chased Walden into an alley on Edgerly Avenue and beat him with a nail driven board on June 24, 2011.
Walden died two months later.
The other two men are Demarcus Lewis who plead guilty to aggravated assault and testified against the third defendant Tracy Smith.
Smith was convicted of murder last year.
