VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) -

Police arrested a nursing home resident after they said she killed her roommate at the facility.

Janet Clements, 66, was arrested and charged with felony murder and aggravated assault by strangulation.

According to a report, Valdosta Police and Lowndes County EMS responded to Crestwood Nursing Home on November 11 after a resident, 57-year-old Cynthia Weekly was found dead inside her room.

Investigators later learned that Clements and Weekly were roommates at the nursing home.

After an autopsy was completed, authorities got arrest warrants for Clements on November 13.

Officials did not release any motive in the case on Thursday.

Clements was taken to the Lowndes County Jail.

Crestwood Nursing Home released a statement:
