ALBANY, GA (WALB) - State and local representatives discussed the 2015 legislative session over breakfast in Albany Thursday morning.
Senator Freddie Powell Sims and Representative Gerald Greene were among some of the guests at the Legislative Affairs breakfast at Merry Acres Inn. The leaders discussed healthcare and transportation issues across the state but the main focus of the gathering was education funding.
"Hopefully we can get more allocations or moneys for those schools in Southwest Georgia that are sometimes struggling for adequate funding," said Senator Freddie Powell Sims.
also discussed adjusting to the new state school superintendent Richard Woods.
