ALBANY, GA (WALB) - It's one of the most common complaints you hear about Albany, the civic center sits empty far too often.
Is there a way to change that?
The company overseeing downtown redevelopment is working to find out.
Shandon Development is now doing a study to determine the best uses for the civic center.
They're working to determine what events people would like to see there and how to market the facility better.
"They've been interviewing people in the community. They hired a strategic study committee to do this and they are garnering their information," Sharlene Cannon, Interim Downtown Manager.
The results of the study will be presented to the Albany Dougherty Inner City Authority board on December 12th.
