GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - Folks in Grady County placed their bids Wednesday night as the county's annual silent auction began.

The Grady County Historical Society hosts the event every year to raise money for the upkeep of the museum.

This year, popular items such as a mini John Deere truck and a vacation home will be up for grabs.

Organizers of the event say the bidders can get pretty competitive.

Juanita Faircloth of the Grady County Museum said, “Tomorrow evening, people will come in.  They may have come by earlier and placed a bid, but they will come back later to make sure to make sure that they have the highest bid for the items they want.”

The auction continues at the Grady County Agri-Center until Thursday at 8:30 p.m.
