GRADY COUNTY, GA (WALB) - The Grady County Board of Education is in talks with the Jackie Robinson Boys & Girls Club of Cairo/Grady County about a much anticipated upgrade.
Over the past five years, the school system has provided free transportation to students who go to the center after school.
Right now, they're using five buses to send nearly 90 students every day.
Last night, the board discussed lending the club their very own bus.
Unit Director Jeffery Brown said, “That's always a desire for an organization such as the Boys and Girls Club because we do a lot of field trips during the summer and we want to get the kids out into the community. “
The Board of Education will meet with the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls club Thursday morning to finalize future plans and budgeting.
