VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - The VSU student hit by a car while walking in a crosswalk near campus Monday night has been identified as 23 year-old Ivana Domljanovic.
According to police, Domljanovic was walking in the crosswalk on Sustella Avenue near the rec center around 6:30 when she was hit by a white Chevy Impala heading South East. Domljanovic was taken to South Georgia Medical Center and was listed in fair condition as of 2:30 p.m. Tuesday.
"The passenger side front bumper actually struck the student. [It] appears, from witnesses, the student did make an attempt to maybe leap out of the way or get out of the way but was not successful in doin' that," explained Valdosta Police Department Captain Bobbi McGraw.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the driver of the Chevy Impala, 31 year-old Ashley Daniels, was not facing any charges but VPD was continuing to investigate
