ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Volunteers got up early on Veterans Day to help veterans keep their mobility at home.
A group of volunteer builders with the SOWEGA Council on Aging came together to build a ramp for Air Force veteran Gene Gunn and his wife Latrelle.
Gunn served in the Air Force for 20 years.
Volunteers sawed, hammered, and nailed a new ramp to make getting into Gunn's home easier.
The group builds dozens of ramps every year, and many of the ramp builders are veterans themselves.
For more information on how to volunteer, check out the SOWEGA Council on Aging website.
