ALBANY, GA (WALB) - The School Board voted Monday to move the middle school gifted program from Merry Acres to Robert Cross Middle to help relieve overcrowding.
Merry Acres is designed for 700 students, but currently has about 900.
The superintendent said they're working to make the transition smooth.
"Coordinating the clubs and the orchestra, the band and some of the programs, beta club those kinds of things that we worked through. Then there is still some issues with two sets of discipline codes that we have to work through that everybody will be feed with the same spoon," David Mosely, DCSS Superintendent.
The program will move after Christmas.
