CORDELE, GA (WALB) - Dozens of bicyclists are spending the night at Veterans State Park as they prepare to bike through the South Georgia countryside.
Participants in the third annual Tour De Farm will ride their bikes to visit farms in Crisp and Sumter Counties. They'll also tour the Leslie Rural telephone museum. Organizers say it's a good way to showcase South Georgia.
"Well a lot of our participants come from larger metropolitan areas," said Julio Portillo, River Valley Regional Commission. So one of the things we want to do is showcase the beautiful scenery that we have here in South Georgia."
They'll also hop on the SAM Shortline in Crisp County to the Jimmy Carter Boyhood Park in Plains.
The ride will end at Georgia State Veterans Park on Sunday.
