VALDOSTA, GA (WALB) - A Valdosta restaurant is helping a South Georgia food bank feed those in need.
Representatives from the Chicken Salad Chick Restaurant presented Second Harvest of South Georgia with a check for more than $4,700 Friday.
The company raised the money by selling coupon books to their restaurant in September as part of the company's efforts to give back to their local communities. "It's an amazing feeling, it really is," said Julie North, owner of Chicken Salad Chick in Valdosta. "I'm a firm believer that in order to receive, you must give and this has been a huge honor to be able to give back."
The food bank will be able to make around 3,900 meals with the money.
