Traffic slowed by Jefferson wreck

ALBANY, GA (WALB) - A three vehicle wreck at 11th Ave and Jefferson Street blocked the Northbound lanes of Jefferson near the Woodalls station.

One person is charged after a three vehicle wreck that left two people injured, but discharged from the hospital.

Albany Police say around 10:30 Friday morning, 41 year-old Ethile Martin was driving a Ford escape east on 11th Avenue and made a left onto Jefferson Street without yielding to oncoming traffic.

Martin was hit by a Toyota Corolla and a Chrysler, then crashed into this fence and over a concrete wall.

Martin's family members say that intersection can be dangerous.

The driver's cousin Louise Shaw said, "It's dangerous I do know that. They need to do something, I know there's a stop sign, but they need more than a stop sign. There's been more than one accident up in here."

The drivers of the Plymouth and the corolla were taken to the hospital.

Martin was charged with failure to yield after stopping at a stop sign.
