ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Albany Water Gas and Lights has begun a new Security Lights campaign to help cut down on burglaries.
WG&L is reaching out to homeowners and business owners to get more security lighting outdoors. They're also cutting the instillation fees.
Employees say it's a cheap and easy way to help cut down on crime and prevent thieves from stealing property.
"It's a way to get neighborhoods you know, to be lit," said Monique Broughton, WG&L Marketing Manager. "During this time of the year, you get a lot of burglaries. So, if it's well lit, you're less likely to have any of it."
The campaign began last month, but WG&L employees say it's just getting rolled out to customers this month.
