Ewell wins Co. Comm. seat

ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

Ewell Lyle defeats Pat Garner, 2,187 to 1,698, defending his county commission seat, serving a second term.

Dougherty County Commissioner Ewell Lyle will serve another term for district four.

The incumbent Republican beat Democrat Pat Garner who teaches at Darton College.

Lyle and his family watched the results come together at a family member's house.

Lyle earned 56-percent of the vote.

He says he ran a positive campaign despite having a long campaign period after the primary.

“I've learned a lot on my first four years on the commission and I completed all my training, having advanced certified as a county commission and i'm looking forward to the next four years,” said Lyle.

Lyle says he's thankful for all his supporters who help him win re-election.
