TIFT CO., GA (WALB) - Georgia State Patrol has confirmed the name of the victim of a crash on Interstate 75 early Monday morning.
Officials said the single vehicle crash happened around 6:20 a.m. near mile marker 70.
Troopers responding to the scene said 59-year-old Edward Sonnenschien, from Tallahassee was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to a report, Sonnenschien's vehicle lost control, overcorrected, and crashed into the side of the median before coming to a rest in the middle of the interstate.
Emergency crews blocked the two right lanes of the road for about an hour while they cleaned up the scene.
Officials said the crash remains under investigation.
