Man, woman questioned after swat team called to Ashburn home

ASHBURN, GA (WALB) -

Ashburn Police want answers from two people after a domestic violence call escalated to a point where they called a SWAT team for help.

Police Chief Joe Saxon said a domestic violence call came in around 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Officers responded to a home at 1006 Pineknot Rd.

After several attempts to make contact with residents inside, they called for assistance from the Crisp and Turner County Sheriff's office.

They set up a perimeter around the home, and eventually a SWAT team was called to go inside the house.

A man, a woman, and her two small children were found inside.

Chief Saxon said the man had a gun.

The names of those involved were not released Sunday night.

Investigators believe the man and woman are in a relationship, but do not think they are married.

The man and woman were taken to the Ashburn Police Department for questioning.

Charges are pending in the case.
