ALBANY, GA (WALB) - Kayakers got a chance to float down the Flint River Sunday for free.
Dozens of kayakers put on their life jackets to participate in the free kayak rides.
The Albany Convention and Visitors Bureau teamed up with the Downtown Merchants Association to put on the event. Kayakers start at the Georgia Power Dam and end at the new launch at Riverfront Park.
A kayaker from Warner Robbins came to Albany after seeing the event on Facebook.
"Oh I love the fact that right here at the park you can put in and do the little rapids right behind me and then take right out and then come back up and do it again and again," said Greg Bates, Kayaker.
Starting Monday, you can rent Kayaks from Kayak Attack Adventure for $35 for the entire day. It's a one to seven hour float including the kayak, shuttle, life vest and paddle. For more information call Kayak Attack Adventure at 669-1259 or 291-6200.
